Based in the heart of ‘old’ Lerwick, Shetland’s capital, The Grand is a family-run hotel that puts its guests first.
Offering well-appointed and comfortable rooms, excellent car parking and easy access to just about all the local facilities, it makes an ideal base for business people and tourists alike. Shetland tradition is very much alive in the Grand Hotel nearly one hundred years after it took its present fine form. Sample the past beneath turrets and steep gables that stand out in the Lerwick skyline. Or breathe in the history beside the huge sandstone blocks of this majestic building which proudly overlooks the harbour of Lerwick.

All of our rooms are ensuite, include WiFi, breakfast and have appropriate workspace in all of our rooms. Our hotel also has two bars that are open for guests and Shetlanders alike.
Some of the rooms at The Grand offer beautiful elevated views over the Lerwick Harbour and across to Bressay. The hotel and its history on Lerwick’s Commercial Street goes back over 100 years & came into new ownership as the end of 2020 drew in. We look forward to opening the doors for you here at The Grand.
